Sweep or vacuum first to remove grit that can scratch the finish. Damp-mop with a hardwood-safe cleaner or a very light mix of water and a few drops of dish soap — never soak hardwood, as standing water damages the wood. Dry with a clean cloth or towel immediately after mopping.
